The great French writer W. Somerset Maugham tough himself craft
by re-writing (copying) the books he most admired; he did the
word for word in order to have the experience of writing like
the masters that he copied. Because of his love for writing
and his dedication, he was very prolific, having written a
library of novels and short stories (The Razor's Edge,
Of Human Bondage), many of which have been made into movies
and TV plays. Mr. Maugham also wrote for the theater.
It was his commitment to be a great writer, that made him the
timeless writer that he is. If you have not read him, you
should, it will be an experience for you. Below are a group of
screenplays in a wide variety of types, all of which have become
successful films. |
