The Books
The inspiration for the film, and
an incredible story by a great Russian author who happened also
to be addicted to gambling himself. - CDM

| Me and my friends saw this movie a
little while ago and we thought it was the most boring movie
ever. There was nothing interesting happening and you
knew in the end that they would totally end up together, so the
whole movie was pointless, there wasn't many twists and it was
just an all around boring movie! |

Alex and Emma
by RGB
Solid
A good romantic comedy, it does tend to be
reminiscent of Shakespeare in Love. Alex and Emma is a film
where the fantasy world and the real world run not only parallel
but intersect too, constantly altering each other. Alex, a
writer, hires Emma, a stenographer, to type an entire novel of
his to be able to pay back his dues to the local mob. The novel
is a comedy about love and soon the line between the novel and
reality dissolve. The smooth transition in and out of the book
is done very well. "Is it truly love or are they just
imagining things" With Norah Jones featured in the
soundtrack, Alex and Emma makes for a great coffee-time movie.
Happy viewing! |
