HugeReviews.com Reviews:
Arm Yourself
by Irv
Solid
As far as I'm concerned,
John Q is all the reason in the world why we all should all have our own guns. In the real world that little boy would be pushed aside and left to die in a New York second. This falls into the "a man's got to do, what a man's got to do"
category. And a real "John Q," not a Denzel Washington (whom I happen to like a lot {Fordham U, and all}), wouldn't get the time of day.
Denzel is one great actor. I saw him interviewed and he said that he isn't a moviegoer, he
rarely sees his own pictures. That means that this is a man who
practices a craft: he's a craftsman. He doesn't act in away that will "look good on the screen," he becomes the character and goes through the story. And man, what a great actor he is. It's true that I've never said, "that was
Denzel Washington?" He is always recognizable, but so was John Wayne, and I don't remember ever seeing the Duke doing Shakespeare. I always
like his movies, even when I don't like the
subject. Hey, what about Fallen?
