Beowulf the 3D film departs from the age-old epic
poem that it is based on, but the story is so old,
who remembers (ha, ha), or more to the point, it
does not matter. The film Beowulf will not
stir controversy akin to a film based on a comic
book character that everyone grew up on.
What we have is a an exciting film in a
completely new format, "It's like...live-action
animation, man."
The real and lasting
bonus that each of us who view this film in the time
period of its release, the gift that Robert Zemeckis
has given us, is the fact that we are seeing, what
for many is a new hero story, truly the stuff
fantasies are made of, in a completely new
presentation, meaning this new style animation that
Mr. Zemeckis has given us.
We are going to remember Beowulf as we remember
no other tale-of-olde. A wonderful, fantastic
and exciting hero story presented in totally unique
visual package. With every inch of it
excellently done.
The case is superb, their (voice) acting is
everything we have a right to expect from them.
The direction and editing are right on, and the
visual effect is nothing short of spectacular.
Excellent. A job well done. Thank you
Robert Zemeckis.
Beowulf is the oldest epic tale in the English
language, and now, after almost 10 years the efforts
of NY Times best-selling author Neil Gaiman and
Academy Award winning screenwriter Roger Avery have
succeed in bringing this epic to the screen in a
manner befitting its worth.
Academy Award winning director Robert Zemeckis
created this wonderful movie adventure using ground
breaking technology. This advancement,
digitally enhanced live-action, is outstanding and,
for me, the perfect venue to bring this fantastic
story to a visual generation.
Composer Alan Silvestri gives us a score that
enhances the depth and strength of the story and the
characters. Quoting Paramount Pictures, "With
Real D, Dolby Digital 3D and IMAX 3D Beowulf
delivers an unparallel immersive experience that
transports you to the age of heroes."
Synopsis: Beowulf, the mightiest of warriors
in the bygone age of heroes, must defeat the
horrible demon Grendel, however, even more dangerous
is Grendel's mother, seductive, ruthless, evil, and
her goal is revenge. Beowulf's greatest and
most dangerous challenge in this spectacular myth
made to thrill and amaze you (the last is my comment
on this great fantasy).
Publisher's synopsis: He comes out of the
darkness, moving in on his victims in deadly
silence. When he leaves, a trail of blood is all
that remains. He is a monster, Grendel, and all who
know of him live in fear.
Hrothgar, the king of the Danes, knows something
must be done to stop Grendel. But who will guard the
great hall he has built, where so many men have lost
their lives to the monster while keeping watch?
Only one man dares to stand up to Grendel's fury
