If someone told me that I could only have
one anime series in my collection (perish the thought),
without pause I would want Cowboy Bebop. It is my
absolute favorite! It has everything you could
possibly want in anime: sci-fi, cool music, great writing,
heroism, suspense, villains that range from seriously
deadly to whacked-out to gelatinous. But what truly sets
Cowboy Bebop apart form the rest is the style.

The stories are all well-conceived and
well-written. The show adheres to its roots and
doesn't stray too far from the fundamentals, and yet it
takes the kind of chances that keeps it unique in the
world of anime. The show's style is founded in this uniqueness
and is reinforced by a
diverse but jazzy/bluesy soundtrack that further
illustrates the attitudes and environments in their
space-age setting.
So why do I love it so much? The characters. They are superbly
written, conceived, and charismatic. As a nice
bonus, they are allowed to develop and evolve as the
series progresses. Character development is a rare
treat in any media nowadays let alone anime. Before
the series ends, each character is given a chance to arc
and exeunt.

The crew of the Bebop (their ship's name) is a motley
one. The ship's captain is Jet Black, a
straight-laced former cop who fashions himself a rogue but
is anything but. His partner Spike Spiegel (the
focal character) is a slick, Kung-Fu fighting, wiseguy
cowboy haunted by a shady past. As the series
progresses they pick up some more crew members. Faye
Valentine is, a femme fatale with an unclear past who'll
manipulate anyone she has to in order to get what she
wants. Ein is a genetically advanced Welsh-Corgi
(dog), and Edward Wong Hau Pepelu Tirvrusky IV, better
known as "Radical Edward," (or just Edward for
short), is a genius computer-hacking little girl who
forced her way onto the Bebop. Faye, Edward and Ein
join Spike and Jet's ill-fated and never-ending quest for
riches bounty hunting their way through the universe. |

The series is full of action, comedy and even romance, but
the underlying storylines are serious, and at times dark
and gritty. It is anime for adults. Best of
all, you don't have to be an anime fan to enjoy it.
If you are and you haven't seen Cowboy Bebop yet, then you
are doing yourself a great disservice. |

The series was a great series that went on to many levels, senses, and people.
I highly recommend this to all who can see it, and the movie is something that just augments the whole experience.

Cowboy Bebop- can only be defined as-Magnificent. This
anime is beautiful. The only drag is that this anime has
no definite plot. I own all episodes and watch them
repeatedly. You can never get tired of this anime. You
will get sucked into this anime with its characters and
you will feel like you are actually in it. This anime is
like an anime within itself. This is a must buy anime.
