Pathetic

How was this possible?  This film looked so funny in the previews.  Talking dogs & cats smackin’ each other around with high-tech, 007-like gadgetry for an hour and change seemed to be the stuff dreams were made of…and then I saw it.  They took the potential for a great family film that all ages could enjoy and made it a kid’s movie.  They took funny faces and goofy voices and put them in boring, unamusing, painfully predictable situations.  Finally, they had special effects so good that it truly looked like the animals were speaking and acting human, and mixed in cartoonish, ridiculously fake-looking computer graphics imaging that consistently reminded you of how distant America’s artistic sense has drifted.

Don’t see this film.  Don’t bring your kids, they’ll be bored (unless they’re young enough that all their taste is in their mouths).  Also, if you are a cat lover, might burn the theater down after seeing this one.  Save your $10, go home and rent Babe because even the tragically under-appreciated John Lovitz couldn’t save this stinker.
