| A
private investigator working a routine case stumbles
into more than he bargains for. Mortally wounded
by a cybernetic thug, he must be rebuilt as the
lightning-fast, super strong android 8 Man. 8 Man is an android vigilante
fighting cybernetic street gangs in a futuristic Tokyo.
The head of an organized crime syndicate who goes by the
name of "The Puppet Master" is providing
cybernetic body parts/weapons for criminals and making them
more powerful than the police. In so doing he is
guaranteeing his own drug empire, for he is the sole
provider of a drug necessary to balance the criminals human
bodies with their cybernetic components. Now only 8 Man
can stop The Puppet Master and the greater evil hiding in
his shadow. |

| Boasting
great anime-style artwork and great characters, 8 Man
is a great action anime tailor made for action fans.
The combat, the technology, and the heroism is too
satisfying to resist. It doesn't try to bite off more than it
can chew (as many anime do), nor does it fall short of its
goal of being a classic, must see anime. |
Although this
was a series, I regard it as one film. This is how it
is presented on DVD, and frankly, the way it should
be. See this one when your in the mood for a good,
old-fashioned, sci-fi action film. You will not be
disappointed. |
