Suspenseful, engaging, highly entertaining
by Joe De Matteo
Super
Great look and feel, as the story moves along the look does
as well, sometimes muted, even bland to fit what is going on
on the screen, other times share and even colorful.
One minor scene stands out in my mind; seemingly not
important - one of the bad-guys is walking through the pool
area - but the brightness and coloration of the pool in
contrast to the bad-guy, tells us a great deal. |

The opening credit footage is a gas; I love it. It sets
the pace for the film, but not as you'll see it. The first
scene is like a bridge, but you won't have much time to think
about that. It leaves you feeling like crap, and the next
scene you're waiting for the other show to drop, but it doesn't,
the other one does.
While Bruce Willis is a great cop he's a different great cop.
Not like witty John McClane (Die Hard) or the washed up negative
Jack Mosley of 16 Blocks, or even the hard hitting Noir Hartigan
(Sin City), no Jeff Talley is someone else all together, but
Bruce Willis always.
And, it's re-re-re-watchable! |
