Disappointing.Big on effects, some artsy scenes but still falls flat.
Seemed like a never ending ride going nowhere. Don't feel any real
emphathy for the characters. Nick Nolte is extremely annoying. Jennifer
Connely plays two emotions throught the film - sad and sadder. All she
does is cry or look disturbed.
Being a fan of the original comic book The Hulk I was surprisingly
baffled by how good this film was. From early on in the movie
they make you despise Hulk's antagonists. Most people are
probably thinking he looks too cartoony, but when your main star is a
huge green mutant with the strength of thousands of men you have to make
some concessions, still the animation is very fluid and realistic. Jen
Connelly played wonderfully as Banner's girlfriend Betty. The
action is unsurpassed. I think there's some scenes in here
that will change action movie making for the better. Imagine
Hulk charging an M1 tank and ripping it to pieces and throwing it 200
yards. I have seen the movie twice and I'll probably watch it many more
times when it's been released. It leaves room for a sequel
and resolves nicely after the action has peaked. The comic-esque
framing, cutting edge film editing and transitions made every moment of
the film a work of art to behold. The musical score for the
f!
ilm is amazing and it adds a futuristic feel to the story telling. Ang
Lee and his crew did a terrific job. I look forward to seeing
more movies from him. The Hulk is a must see if you ask me.
