| What
is it about Rumiko Takahashi? She's like the Shakespeare
of Manga! Her stories generally center on unlikely
romance set amongst complete turmoil and humorous
madness. Her stories are always engrossing and
addictive. I'm a fan of Inu Yasha, as well as one of her
other hits, Ranma 1/2. |
| Kagome, a teenaged girl, falls down a well
and is transported by a millipede demon to a 16th century Japan plagued by demons and deviltry.
The millipede demon frees a glowing jewel from Kagome's
body. The jewel has mystical abilities that can greatly
increase a demon's power. Fleeing the demon she encounters
Inu Yasha, a half human demon, pinned with a mystical arrow to
a tree. Upon freeing him, he kills the millipede to get
the jewel for himself. Unfortunately another demon nabs
the jewel. Trying to destroy the demon, Kagome shatters
the powerful jewel which explodes into fragments that scatter
themselves throughout Japan. Now the Kagome and a
mystically bound Inu Yasha travel the ancient
country in search of the fragments.
|
| Although
they are comrades, Kagome wants to restore the jewel to keep
it away from the forces of
evil. Inu Yasha wants the jewel's power so that he can
become a full-fledged demon like the one that sired him.
Despite their glaring differences, the two manage to be an
effective team in gathering the jewel shards. Along the way they are joined by
Shippou, a
benign little fox demon who can shapeshift; Miroku, a monk
cursed with a black hole in his right hand that will one day
swallow him up; and Sango, the demon slayer and her mystical fox
demon companion. But friendships aren't all that are developed along the
way. Kagome and Inu Yasha develop sweet affections for each
other that neither know what to do with.
|

"...there's really nothing not to like about this
anime!"
|
| Throughout
their quest, the group find themselves battling hordes of
demons. Some working for their own benefit, others for a
mysterious dark lord. Add to that Inu Yasha's fully
demonic brother Sesshomaru who is bent on gaining the power of
the jewel, as well as Inu Yasha's sword, to ensure his
supernatural power. It isn't long before the adventure
heats up and both Inu Yasha and Kagome learn just how powerful
they really are. |
|

"You can
watch any given episode and expect to see action, adventure,
comedy, and romance."
|
Inu
Yasha is a truly great anime series. The
art is great, the story is great, the characters are
great...there's really nothing not to like about this anime! The
show has something for everyone! You can
watch any given episode and expect to see action, adventure,
comedy, and romance. The show features great fighting
scenes, creative characters, and meaty storylines, but what really makes it special is the romance
between Kagome and Inu Yasha. It isn't a cold,
mechanical, or oversexed love affair like you see in other anime,
but a warm, innocent and sincere one. It is a more
genuine love than most anime can produce. Somehow it
just makes the series all the more satisfying. I think the
romantic element also explains the attraction young women have
to this particular anime. |
| Overall,
I think Inu Yasha is one of the anime greats. I highly
recommend you watch at least two episodes and be amazed at how
quickly it hooks you. It is arguably the most popular
anime series on American television today. |

Inuyasha is like the best anime series
ever made!! I mean, it has all the qualities of a great story.
It has romance, comedy, adventure, action, and fantasy all
combined in a witty story filled with demons and adversaries.
Unfortunately, the series end at episode 167, but there is a
very good chance that more episodes will be made, seeing that it
had to be stopped because it caught up with the manga series.
Despite that, the episodes are awesome and u just want to follow
the story over and over again. So I give this series two HUGE
thumbs up :). This is one anime I highly recommend.
I am an Inuyasha loving fan who can't get enough of the
episodes. I hope new ones come out after the manga is completed
since episode 167 left many cliffhangers. I know basically
everything about Inuyasha and I am true fan. Give it up to
Rumiko Takahashi!!

The best EVER!!! Nothing bad to say about the TRUE
version, but beware of the dubbing! Great merchandise,
songs etc. LOVE IT ALL! (Besides, when a story has
THAT many bishounen, it can't go wrong!) Great plot,
funny and romantic with great action too! |
