Possibly my favorite non-all-out-comedy film noir
tribute dark comedy of mine by the Cohen Brothers. As always, they deliver on artistic visuals (a hat in every
scene), great characters (Gabriel Byrne hits a home run,
Albert Finney hits the heart of the movie, and John Polito
hits his son), and sharp-funny dialogue (watch the Steve
Buscemi scene with subtitles). An involving story that strikes all the right chords, the
Cohen Brothers are, and always have been, two of the best.
