HugeReviews.com Reviews:
Mrs.
Doubtfire
by JE De
Matteo
Solid
In
a hotty contest with Garth Algar (Dana
Carvey) as the judge, I'm confident Bugs Bunny has
nothing to worry about when up against Robin
Williams. Williams as Mrs. Doubtfire
doesn't hold a candle to Bugs, at least that's the
way I think Garth would look at it. Although
with Garth, one never knows.
Cross-dressing aside,
this is a funny movie. Sure you've got to
look past a number of valid points, but that
almost always goes without saying. The fact
is that Robin Williams will make you laugh in this
1993 movie. The on camera interviews on the
DVD are really good, but I'd love to see the movie
with Williams' commentary. Wow!
That would be great. This, after all, is
today's master of improv.
A good movie and a great
DVD.

Robin Williams had experience playing older women. At a show Andy Kaufman did at Carnegie Hall, Williams played Kaufman's grandmother.
Here's an odd twist: in real life Robin Williams divorced his wife to marry his children's nanny. In this film he divorces his wife and becomes his children's nanny. Interesting.
