Movie Info.:
Austin's picture phone has the same ring as the hotline phone in
Our Man Flint (one of the films Austin Powers was mocking).
The name "Austin Powers" sounds like Justin Power, the name of the time-traveling international spy in the film
Dimension 5. Hmmmm?
Originally, in the Las Vegas bar scene where Austin flashes the peace sign and is laughed at, Austin was going to be drinking a Zima (showing how Powers was trying to be cool and failing). The Zima company loved the idea...that is, until they realized they were being mocked. So, instead of a Zima, Austin drinks a TAB Cola in that scene. Can you still buy TAB?
Both Elizabeth Hurley and Mimi Rogers kept the tight leather outfits they wore in the film. All I can say is that Hugh Grant is an idiot!
When Austin enters the "Electric Psychedelic Pussycat Swingers Club" he exclaims, "It's my happenin' baby and it freaks me out!" This is the same line delivered by Z-Man in
Beyond the Valley of the Dolls when he enters the party scene.
George
S. Clinton is also a funk star! He was a member of Parliament,
whom you might remember from such songs as "Tear The Roof Off The
Sucker (Give Up The Funk)." One of his most famous solo songs
is "Atomic Dog." Aside from his musical work in many
films, he has also worked with many contemporary music artists' albums.
One such artist is Snoop Doggy Dog.
