Warren Beatty faced a lot of criticism from censors and movie studios when
he tried to make this film, but he persevered and the film was made.
It was such a success afterward that Warren Beatty became regarded very
highly by studio executives and the general public. It's the movie
that made him a powerful man in Hollywood.
1.) The character "C.W. Moss" is a fictionalized
composite of two members of the Barrow gang: William Daniel "W.D."
Jones, and Henry Methvin.
2.) The actual car that Bonnie and Clyde were shot to death in, as
well as the shirt Clyde Barrow was wearing, are on exhibit at Whiskey
Pete's Casino in Primm, Nevada.
3.) Jane Fonda turned down the role as Bonnie.
4.) Morgan Fairchild got her film debut in this picture as Faye
Dunaway's stand-in.
