1.) The so-called "Man With No Name" Series:
-in A Fistful of Dollars, his name
was Joe
-in For A Few Dollars More, his
name was Monco
-in The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly,
his name is Blondie
So, why do they call it "The Man with No Name" Series, when
Clint's playing three different men with three different names?
Interesting.
2.) Just so you know, this is the film that featured Ennio
Morricone's most famous soundtrack. The theme from The Good, The
Bad, and The Ugly can be heard in everything from cartoons and sitcoms
to beer commercials. Morricone won an award for his soundtrack to A
Fistful of Dollars in 1965, but amazingly his most famous and
classic soundtrack was overlooked for any awards or nominations.
If you are interested, check out the Ennio Morricone collection which
samples from all three of the Man With No Name movies that he did.
You can find it in our store.
3.) When The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly was released in
America, over fourteen minutes of footage was cut from the original
Italian release. But thanks to the magic of DVD and the wisdom of
MGM-UA, you can now see the cut scenes if you rent or buy the DVD
version of this film. They are all in Italian and subtitled, but I
can tell you that a couple of those scenes were excellent and should
never have been cut, be sure to check'em out!
