Raging Bore by Irv

What is it with some
people? I can't believe this movie is so
well like by anyone who isn't pretending to be an intellectual,
who's pretending not to be slumming and really
gives a sh_t.
I like Martin Scorsese
and I really like DeNiro; But Scorsesse has made a
lot of boring movies that really had a lot of promise,
but they try to be intellectual and gritty at the
same time, and that just doesn't do it for me.
Compare Goodfellas with Mean Streets and you'll
know what I mean. Goodfellas is a great
movie, Mean Streets, and Raging Bull, go over off
the road somewhere.
Brother, did I suffered
through this one.

The scene by the chain link fence between DeNiro and Moriarty (where Jack meets his girlfriend) was ad-libbed.
Robert De Niro accidentally broke Joe Pesci's rib in a sparring scene. De Niro hits Pesci in the side, Pesci groans, and there is a quick cut to another angle. See if you can find it! (its not hard)
De Niro gained over 50 pounds to play the older La Motta, and Pesci lost weight for the same scene. Additionally, Robert De Niro went through intense physical training, then tested his new prowess in three genuine Brooklyn boxing matches. He won two of them.
Martin Scorsese is the one in the club asking Jake to go on stage.
To show up better on black-and-white film, Hershey's chocolate syrup was used for blood.
