Saturday Night Fever

I came across this movie one night while aimlessly
flipping through the channels.
Excitement and emotion are anything but lacking in this
70s classic. The
era that it is portraying is in itself a very energetic and
positive time. It
seems as if no one really cares about what is happening a month
from now or a year from now; people worry about that coming
weekend and where they will be going to have a good time. |

This movie personifies the 70s right down to the
polyester suits and the drugs.
The characters have attitude and style.
The main character, Tony, is the type of person that
everybody wants to be. He
has the walk, the hair, and the moves.
Even though he has nothing, he has everything. His family has no money, he has a dead-end job at a paint
shop, and he has no car. Even
so, he is on top of the world once he enters the club.
He is incredibly passionate about dancing. The movie has a nice flow to it.
It goes from him going to the club, to entering the
contest, to finding the perfect partner to practice with.
The acting lacks some quality, but this might be because
the actors are new and, at the time, didn’t have a feel for
acting yet. This is
all right because it gives the movie a slight comedic touch. The
music is great, the style is amazing, and the storyline is
interesting. Watching
the movie makes the viewer feel envious that they are not on the
dance floor also. |

All in all, the movie is a good investment of two hours
and something fun to watch on a Friday night when nothing else
is going on. I cannot try to persuade people to watch it because I’m
sure that the majority of Americans have experienced this movie
already. But if
not, please do. |
