Reviews:
Oscar
by Joe De Matteo
Solid
Unhappily I have to wait a year
between viewings. This way I don't remember every line, smirk,
eye-roll and punch line. But I enjoy it every time. Stallone
is perfect. Sofia Provolone (Ornella Muti), Stallone's wife is a
knock out. Chazz Palminteri, Marisa Tomei, Vincent Spano, Tim Curry, Don
Ameche, Eddie Bracken, Martin Ferrero and Kirk Douglas are all
perfect. For my money the film is perfectly cast; all the
characters are real.
What else? Well the sets are
fantastic, the costumes are great and the old cars are fun to see.
This is just one enjoyable movie, right from the clay guy singing Figaro
through Oscar's appearance, and including the Finucci brothers and
everything in between; I just loved it.
