A fun, magic carpet ride: Titan A.E.

Solid

            The concept intrigued me and I went to see it.  I liked it.  I found it on HBO one night while on vacation.  I watched it again.  This is a Solid movie.

            With great voicing by Matt Damon (All the Pretty Horses), Bill Pullman (The Zero Effect) and others, quality animation and a good sci-fi plot, the film transcends what some might consider cartoon limitations and provides entertainment, adventure and some truly exciting moments.

            The basic premise is that the Earth has been destroyed (not too big of a loss) and that humanity is now an endangered species in the universe.  Our last hope, apparently, is the Titan, a massive space ship, and there’s a race on to find it.  Our hero, voiced by Damon, is the only one that holds the map in a mysterious tattoo on his palm and so the chase begins.

            Engaging throughout, the film takes you on a fun ride you don’t mind getting on again.
